PSO Commununity Concert Returns!

Join the Hill District Community and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as they continue a tradition and offer an affordable, uplifting evening of music! The PSO will present their third annual Hill District Community Engagement Concert at St. Benedict the Moor Church (91 Crawford St., Pittsburgh, 15219) on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. All ticket proceeds from the concert will benefit the arts programs of the Hill House Association.

PSO Assistant Conductor Thomas Hong will conduct a string orchestra comprised of PSO musicians. The concert will include nationally known poet, Toi Derricotte, reading her own poetry in conjunction with the PSO’s performance of Vivaldi's "Spring" from The Four Seasons. The Vivaldi performance will also highlight a performance by Mark Huggins, the PSO’s Associate Concertmaster. Music by Mendelssohn, Higdon, and Britten will also be featured. The Hill House Association hosts the performance evening. Tickets cost $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (65+), and $4 for students K-college.

A free, post-concert reception is included in the price of the ticket.
